It's Not Sloppy, It's Shabby-Chic!
My sew-ing, that is! I finally broke down and bought a sewing machine because I can no longer deny what a really awesome touch a sewn edge gives to that certain card with that certain set of stamps. In fact, one of Clear Dollar Stamps' new releases, Ageless Antiques, is the perfect example of a sew-friendly set! For this card, I used the antique lamp and went crazy with the sewing machine (please don't look too close...I haven't got the concept of a "straight line" down yet! Oh well, it adds to the whole shabby-chic feel, no?). I love the openness of the lampshade...it just screams to be stamped on patterned paper (which I did, and on 3 separate patterns, which I then cut out and stuck on with foam adhesive... check out the close-up). Other details:

Stamps: Clear Dollar
Stamps - Ageless Antiques
Ink: Staz-On Jet Black; Ranger Antique Linen Distress
Markers: Copics #R39, R81, R85, W1, W3
Other Color Medium: Pebbles Inc. Shimmer Chalks (gold above & under lampshades)
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Whisper White
DP: Basic Grey - Infuse collection
Dies/Punches: Spellbinders Nestabilities Blossom, Double-Ended Tags, Tiny Tags; Fiskars Give It a Swirl border punch
Embellishments: May Arts pink velvet and plaid ribbon; Prima velvet flowers; Making Memories brads (black); Lasting Impressions brad (matte olive); sewing machine/green thread

Well, a couple more cards with March-release stamps, then it'll be on to April's...where DOES the time go? See you soon, and in the meantime, Happy First-Day-of-Spring!
